Positive Space in the College Classroom: Supporting Learning for Your 2SLGBTQ+ Students

Do you have questions about how to better support your 2SLGBTQ+ students? Are you not exactly sure what that acronym means and want more information? This workshop is for you! This workshop offers a safe environment for you to become familiar with 2SLGBTQ+ terminology and inclusive language, better understand the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ students at Niagara College, and explore strategies for creating safe spaces through your teaching to support the learning of your 2SLGBTQ+ students.

Supporting Trans, Nonbinary, and Two-Spirit Students in Your Teaching & Learning Spaces

This 90-minute webinar will provide you with a deeper understanding of gender identity and expression in order to allow you to be a more informed and aware ally to trans, nonbinary, and Two-Spirit students at NC. In this session you will consider the lived experiences of trans students at NC and how it impacts their educational experiences, learn about strategies and approaches for building trans inclusive learning spaces, and reflect on your own approaches as an educator.

Creating 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive and affirming environments (Offered via CPOD Professional Development Workshops)

Do you have questions about how to be more inclusive, respectful, welcoming and supportive of 2SLGBTQ+ students and colleagues?

This 90 minute workshop offers a safe environment for support staff and administrators to:

  • Become familiar with 2SLGBTQ+ terminology and inclusive language
  • Better understand the lived experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ students and colleagues at Niagara College

Explore strategies for creating safe(r) and inclusive spaces.
